Duncan McArthur Jackson (1881-1954) was a Scottish-born Labour Party politician, who completed two consecutive terms as Mayor of Islington in 1938-39 and 1939-40. Born in Dennistoun, Glasgow, he was the son of John Jackson and Mary Stewart née McArthur. In the 1901 census he was living with his widowed mother in Glasgow and was a stationers' apprentice. By 1922 he was living in Islington. In 1928 he was elected to Islington Borough Council to represent Thornhill Ward. He lost his seat in 1931. He was a member of the London County Council representing Islington South West from 1949–52, and as an alderman from 1952 until his death.

Scrapbook containing press cuttings and photographs collated by Mayor Alderman Duncan McArthur Jackson as Mayor of Islington. Contains material relating to their appointment and activities as Mayor, and preparations for the start of the Second World War. Additional loose press cuttings are inserted in an envelope inside the front cover.
