Creator historyPaul Thurlow was a volunteer on the Islington's Pride LGBTQ+ archives project at the Islington Local History Centre and later became a volunteer with the Islington Local History Centre. He is a long-term resident of Islington and an active member of the LGBTQ+ community having volunteered with many organisations including Gay Switchboard. He also actively participated in many events and activities.

Scope and ContentFive A4 sheets, both sides, black, grey and brown on white with colour photos. Printout of an article by Jason Okundaye and Marc Thompson on the digital archive 'Black and Gay, Back in the Day' they launched on Instagram at the start of LGBTQ History Month 2021, to document the lives of of Black queer people in Britain before the year 2020. Marc Thompson is the director of the community health action group 'The Love Tank', a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, formerly based in Clerkenwell. The article includes ten photos from the archive with comments by Jason or Marc, including one taken at the London Lesbian and Gay Centre in Clerkenwell in the late 1980's.
