Paul Thurlow was a volunteer on the Islington's Pride LGBTQ+ archives project at the Islington Local History Centre and later became a volunteer with the Islington Local History Centre. He is a long-term resident of Islington and an active member of the LGBTQ+ community having volunteered with many organisations including Gay Switchboard. He also actively participated in many events and activities.

Postcard to advertise the podcast series "The Logbooks", which covered the history of LQBTQ+ people's experiences using the log books kept by volunteers of Switchboard (the LGBTQ+ helpline based in Islington) covering 1974 to 2003 as their starting point. The podcast was hosted by Acast and editions were released from 2019 to 2022.
