Paul Thurlow was a volunteer on the Islington's Pride LGBTQ+ archives project at the Islington Local History Centre and later became a volunteer with the Islington Local History Centre. He is a long-term resident of Islington and an active member of the LGBTQ+ community having volunteered with many organisations including Gay Switchboard. He also actively participated in many events and activities.

Two sides of A4 sheet, black and red on white. Copy of the 'London Against Racism' declaration, part of a campaign by the Greater London Council (GLC) in 1984. Note in pencil written at the bottom of the declaration: " 'signed by Switchboard AGM 1/4/1984" - a reference to London Gay Switchboard (now 'Switchboard') having endorsed the declaration at it's AGM.
