Paul Thurlow was a volunteer on the Islington's Pride LGBTQ+ archives project at the Islington Local History Centre and later became a volunteer with the Islington Local History Centre. He is a long-term resident of Islington and an active member of the LGBTQ+ community having volunteered with many organisations including Gay Switchboard. He also actively participated in many events and activities.

One sheet (smaller than A5), black on pink. Handout produced by Gay CND and handed out at the Mutations disco at The Bell on Friday 23rd March 1984, following the racist and fascist incident on Friday 16th March. States that they intend to exclude all those of fascist or racist appearance or behaviour from Mutations disco and asks patrons to give their support to this policy.
