    Paul Thurlow was a volunteer on the Islington's Pride LGBTQ+ archives project at the Islington Local History Centre and later became a volunteer with the Islington Local History Centre. He is a long-term resident of Islington and an active member of the LGBTQ+ community having volunteered with many organisations including Gay Switchboard. He also actively participated in many events and activities.

    Photocopied A4 sheet, black on white. Copy of the London-based Lesbian and Gay Socialist Group's letter in response to the the open letter from the Gay Black Group to other LGBTQ+ organisations seeking "..support and commitment in combatting the growing presence of fascism and racism in the gay community" (GBG letter also in the collection). Letter offers support and ideas for work to combat racism and fascism in the gay community invites the Gay Black Group to come to a meeting on 15th April. At that time, both groups were meeting at Gay's the Word bookshop in Marchmont Street, Bloomsbury, on different nights.
