    Paul Thurlow was a volunteer on the Islington's Pride LGBTQ+ archives project at the Islington Local History Centre and later became a volunteer with the Islington Local History Centre. He is a long-term resident of Islington and an active member of the LGBTQ+ community having volunteered with many organisations including Gay Switchboard. He also actively participated in many events and activities.

    68 pages, A5 booklet, black on white, with pink cover. Produced for distribution at the National Union of Teachers' annual conference, held in Jersey over Easter, 1983. Includes "It's Only a Phase..." by Paul Thurlow, Secretary of the Gay Youth Movement (GYM, later the Lesbian and Gay Youth Movement, LGYM) which includes quotes from young lesbians and gay men taken from "I Know What I Am - Gay Teenagers and the Law" (Joint Council for Gay Teenagers, 1980, which is elsewhere in the collection) and gives a list of urgent changes to be implemented in schools. Other chapters include "The London Young Lesbian Group" by youth workers Jane Dixon and Gilly Salvat, and "Gay Rights and the ILEA/GLC" by Deidre Woods, then a GLC (Greater London Council) and ILEA (Inner London Education Authority) member and chair of the ILEA Staff Committee.
