Scope and Content
One page carbon copy of letter by Paul Thurlow to the editor of Capital Gay. Appears to be a response to coverage of the LibGay (gay group within the Liberal Party) involvement in the February 1983 Bermondsey by-election and comments by Alan Mead, a group member (the Capital Gay article is not in the collection). Peter Tatchell was the Labour Party candidate, who refused to declare his sexual orientation during the campaign, and lost the by-election to Simon Hughes, the Liberal candidate who much later came out as bisexual. The Liberal campaign was accused of exploiting homophobia.
