    Paul Thurlow was a volunteer on the Islington's Pride LGBTQ+ archives project at the Islington Local History Centre and later became a volunteer with the Islington Local History Centre. He is a long-term resident of Islington and an active member of the LGBTQ+ community having volunteered with many organisations including Gay Switchboard. He also actively participated in many events and activities.

    Article about an article in the 28 January edition of 'Contact', the magazine of the ILEA (Inner London Education Authority) by Bobby Pickering on the lack of material in school libraries about homosexuality and recommending fiction and non-fiction books to correct this. Also refers to the agreement of Deidre Wood, a member of the Greater London Council (GLC) and ILEA (Inner London Education Authority) to chair an ILEA Gay Working Party, with similar functions to the existing GLC Gay Working Party. The ILEA was the education authority for all the Inner London boroughs and was also responsible for the youth service. Article adhered to A4 paper with 2 other articles.
