Paul Thurlow was a volunteer on the Islington's Pride LGBTQ+ archives project at the Islington Local History Centre and later became a volunteer with the Islington Local History Centre. He is a long-term resident of Islington and an active member of the LGBTQ+ community having volunteered with many organisations including Gay Switchboard. He also actively participated in many events and activities.

Article about the Daily Mail's 11 December 1982 article (also in the collection) on the talk to Brighton Venture Scouts by members of Brighton Gay Switchboard, and correspondence that resulted between Paul Thurlow of the Gay Youth Movement (GYM) and the Scout's 'Relationships Secretary' (also elsewhere in the collection). Article adhered to A4 paper with 2 other articles.
