Paul Thurlow was a volunteer on the Islington's Pride LGBTQ+ archives project at the Islington Local History Centre and later became a volunteer with the Islington Local History Centre. He is a long-term resident of Islington and an active member of the LGBTQ+ community having volunteered with many organisations including Gay Switchboard. He also actively participated in many events and activities.

Scope and Content
Three pages of A4, black on white. Two pages include cut-and-paste elements; first two pages on Gay Youth Movement (GYM) headed paper. A document prepared by Paul Thurlow of GYM, copied and handed out at the GYM lobby meeting with Members of Parliament held on 16th February 1983.
First page divided into sections, each with a bulleted list of issues, and headed: 'We hope to discuss:' and' We Propose:'. The second and third sheet, headed 'Ideas for Action that MP's Could Take' includes a list of issues for MP-sponsored deputations to the Home and Education Secretaries, and a list of possible Parliamentary Questions to government ministers. The final sheet sets out a breakdown of the published statistics on men aged under 25 years old and convicted in 1981 of the criminal offences of buggery, gross indecency, indecent assault on a man, and importuning, with comments, and highlighting the unequal treatment of gay men by the criminal law at the time.
