Paul Thurlow was a volunteer on the Islington's Pride LGBTQ+ archives project at the Islington Local History Centre and later became a volunteer with the Islington Local History Centre. He is a long-term resident of Islington and an active member of the LGBTQ+ community having volunteered with many organisations including Gay Switchboard. He also actively participated in many events and activities.

Scope and Content
One-page letter dated 12 April 1983 from Bob (Robert) Crossman (then an Islington Councillor, and the Council's nominated member of the Inner London Education Authority (ILEA) and it's Education Committee, inviting "interested parties" (lesbians and gay men) to attend an informal meeting on 19th April, and a formal meeting of the Working Party to be held on 3 May. The ILEA was the education authority for all the Inner London boroughs and was also responsible for the youth service.
