Scope and Content
Article about the meeting held on 28th September in the Clifton Hotel in Blackpool during the 1982 Labour Party Conference, organised by the Labour Campaign for Gay Rights (LCGR). Anger over recent homophobic coverage of Peter Tatchell and others resulted in journalists from some newspapers being ejected from the meeting. Refers to speeches made by Tony Benn MP, Joan Lester MP, Peter Tatchell and Ken Livingstone (Leader of the Greater London Council). LCGR is now 'LGBT+ Labour'.
