Scope and Content
Exterior of the Romanesque barrel vaulted Mildmay Conference Hall built 1869-70 by Habershon & Pite on Newington Green Road which held 2500 for meetings and religious services & was galleried on 3 sides.
It closed in 1954 and was demolished in 1959.
Outside stood a mulberry tree traditionally said to have been planted for Sir Francis Bacon while leasing Canonbury Tower 1625-7.
