Scope and Content
Photocopied article by Adrian Fulford, barrister, on defending men charged with the criminal offences of gross indecency and importuning under the 1956 Sexual Offences Act, and insulting behaviour under the 1936 Public Order Act. Points out that prosecutions of men for these offences have doubled, and convictions trebled, since the passing of the Sexual Offences Act 1967 (which amended the law in England and Wales only, so that sex between two men, in private, if both were 21 years or older, and not in the merchant navy or armed forces, was no longer a criminal offence).
