Four pages, A4. As stated at the end of the last page, the Gay Youth Movement (known as 'GYM'; later the Lesbian and Gay Youth Movement, 'LGYM'), formally came into existence on 6th December 1980 when this constitution was agreed and signed by the first Co-ordinator, David Sweeney. GYM and then LGYM brought together LGBTQ+ young people across the UK: individuals and members of local LGBTQ+ youth groups, such as London Gay Teenage Group. It published 'Gay Youth' magazine from Summer 1981, which became 'Lesbian and Gay Youth' from issue 14 in January 1985. The last known edition (no. 21) was published in Summer 1987. Numbers 1 (Summer 1981) to 8 (February 1983) are in this collection. LGYM disappears from the currently available records in 1988. Dr Clifford Williams' book "Courage to Be - Organised Gay Youth in England 1967-1990" (2021, The Book Guild Ltd) covers some to the history of GYM/LGYM.
