Documents circulated to the GLC Gay Working Party from the Gay Youth Movement

6 x A4 sheets, black on white, originally stapled together and sent out as a paper for a meeting of the Greater London Council (GLC) Gay Working Party. Top sheet: copy of letter from Paul Thurlow, Secretary of the Gay Youth Movement (GYM) to councillor Andy Harris, chair of the GLC Gay Working Party, with Andy Harris' hand-written note requesting its circulation "to the next G.W.P.". Other sheets are copies of a letter to the Chief Scout from Paul Thurlow and the Scout's Relationships Secretary's reply, arising from an article in the Daily Mail on 11 December 1982 (also included) about two talks to the 15th Brighton Venture Scouts by members of the local Gay Switchboard. The last two sheets are copies of Paul Thurlow's letter inviting interest in joining the proposed 'ILEA Gay Working Party', to be convened by councillor Andy Harris who was also a member of the Inner London Education Authority (ILEA) [this is also in the collection at S/PTC/2/4/5]. The ILEA was the education authority for all the Inner London boroughs and was also responsible for the youth service.
