A cyclist who died earlier this month has been remembered as the “life and soul” of the party.
Soren Aarlev died in hospital five days after a crash with a car on Goswell Road at the junction with Percival Street. He was the sixth cyclist to died on London’s streets this year.
The 38-year-old from Denmark worked as a senior designer for a creative agency near Exmouth Market in Clerkenwell.
During his eight years there, Mr Aarlev, who was living in Haggerston, worked on big projects including for fashion labels Chanel and Temperley.
He would cycle to and from work with his girlfriend, who he met at the company.
His colleague Linford Haggie told the Tribune: “He was just the coolest guy.
“He made you feel cool knowing him. He always had a smile on his face.
“He would never say he was too busy, he was never unwilling to help. He was always the life and soul of the party.”
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the crash which happened at about 12.20am on Friday, July 6.
The Town Hall said it is seeking funding to urgently investigate the junction’s safety.
