Abstract

A man in his 30s suffered “life-changing injuries” in a hit-and-run accident in a quiet garden square in Barnsbury in the early hours of Sunday.

Police and the London Ambulance Service were called to Barnsbury Square just before 3.30am to reports of a man seriously injured following a collision with a car.

The man was taken to an east London hospital.

The car was left at the scene, with the driver and other occupants fleeing on foot. No arrests have been made.

A neighbour who lives nearby but wished to remain anonymous told the Tribune: “My wife was walking the dog at around 7am on Sunday and she said there was so many police still there.

“It seems like it was a serious accident. The railing is still damaged today (Wednesday).”
