Abstract

An Islington foster carer who has looked after more than 80 children has received her MBE for services to fostering.

Chris Meadows visited Buckingham Palace with husband Peter to be given the award by Prince Charles, above, at a ceremony last Thursday. She said: “Fostering is a really rewarding experience and it’s nice to be able to make a change to a child’s life.

“You learn things from every child you foster – each one teaches you how to be a better foster parent for the next.”
