Abstract
A public inquiry will be held later this year into plans to build a 180-room hotel on the site of the multi-storey NCP car park in Farringdon Road.
The redevelopment plans by Mayfair-based Endurance Land were thrown out by councillors in September last year. They said the plans did not fit with their policy that the site should be used for homes or offices.
Jacqueline Czelny, chairwoman of the Catherine Griffiths and Clerkenwell Community Tenants’ and Residents’ Association, said: “Developers can afford to have a barrister [at the inquiry], but residents can’t. We’re going to attempt some crowdfunding.”
