Abstract
Three men have denied murder after the death of a prisoner in Pentonville Prison.
New father Jamal Mahmoud, 21, was fatally stabbed at the Caledonian Road jail on October 18. Two other men were injured.
Joshua Ratner, 26, Robert Butler, 30, and Basan Kimbembi, 34, all of Belmarsh Prison, each pleaded not guilty to murder via videolink at the Old Bailey on Monday. A date for a trial, scheduled to last for around five weeks, was not set but it is unlikely to take place before September.
