Abstract

A member of the Adams family has been convicted of causing grievous bodily harm after shooting a man in the chest in broad daylight.

Patrick “Patsy” Adams, 60, shot victim Paul Tiernan once as he sat at the wheel of his car in St John Street, Clerkenwell, on December 22, 2013.

Adams and his wife Constance fled to Amsterdam after the shooting, but were extradited back to the UK to face trial for attempted murder. But after Mr Tiernan refused to co-operate, all charges against Ms Adams were dropped. A charge of possession of a firearm was left to “lie on file”, Woolwich Crown Court heard on Monday. Adams, the younger brother of former crime boss Terry Adams, was remanded in custody to face sentencing today (Friday).
