A convicted drug dealer has been jailed for sending a death threat to one of the councillors who decided to withdraw Fabric’s licence.
Sebastian Clark-Derby, 25, from Milton Keynes, was sentenced to eight months in prison after sending a malicious email to Councillor Flora Williamson, chairwoman of Islington Council’s licensing committee.
Clark-Derby emailed her from his work computer just hours after the decision on September 7. In the message, entitled “Closure of Fabric”, he wrote: “Please note you have received official death threat.”
Clark-Derby pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing but said he had no intention of carrying out the threat.
He was serving a suspended sentence for possessing ecstasy with intent to supply. He was jailed for four months for breaching that sentence and four months for the email offence at Blackfriars Crown Court on Friday.
