Abstract

The world-famous Little Angel Theatre has received a £135,000 funding boost from Arts Council England.

The puppet theatre company, based in Dagmar Passage, Islington, successfully applied to the Arts Council’s Catalyst Evolve programme, which helps organisations with a limited track record in fundraising attract more private giving.

John Wright opened the theatre in 1961 in the shell of a bombed-out temperance hall, after more than 25 years working with puppets in Europe and Africa. He died in 1991.
