An art gallery in Canonbury is launching a major refurbishment of its building and garden.

The Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art, based in Canonbury Square, has appointed Nathaniel Gee Architects Ltd, responsible for the original design of the Estorick in 1998, for the job.

It will be undertaking major upgrades to improve the infrastructure of the building and to update visitor facilities. These include a new-look entrance, a shop, improved access to the building, and a redesign of the garden.

The museum will close for renovations next month and reopen in January 2017.
