Abstract

The “poorly lit and unwelcoming” area under the railway bridges in Seven Sisters Road are is for makeover as new public art comes to Finsbury Park.

The words “Finsbury Park” and “Together”, along with a mosaic, are set to emblazoned on the walls to the south of Finsbury Park station in a bid to introduce a “brand” for the area.

The designs have been approved by the community, according to council documents.

“The area under the bridges will be significantly improved, both in terms of its lighting and making it more of a usable space, where members of the public will not feel threatened,” the papers state.

To stop the artwork from being pulled off the walls, the letters will be attached within a bespoke frame without any finger gaps.

Additional white lights will be placed above each letter and two extra lights will be placed at either end of the words.

Councillors will consider the plans at a planning committee on Monday, July 18
