Reading challenges for the young and the chance to taste life in the fashion and digital industries are on offer during this summer’s Heatwave programme of activities.
The free and low-cost events feature everything from DJing and fashion workshops to sporty holiday camps and cool cookery classes, catering for ages four to 24.
This year also sees the unveiling of the Launchpad, a programme of activities designed to help those aged 16 to 24 learn new skills, make contacts and broaden their horizons – including work experience opportunities in the fashion and digital industries.
Younger children can take part in a Roald Dahl-themed summer reading challenge, with Islington libraries hosting Dahl-related activities
There will be crafts at Islington Museum, healthy cooking sessions at adventure playgrounds and a project at Sadler’s Wells to explore the power of football.
