Abstract
Islington Council documents show that planners want to completely transform the toilets, which have been closed since 1981, by removing the gents' staircase, adding a new door and refurbishing the railings. Clerkenwell Green Preservation Society members, including Chairperson Ann Pembroke and Leora Neidle have objected and want the toilets to be restored to their original use. The toilets were created by Victorian plumber George Jennings.
