Abstract

Neighbours are gearing up for the second round of a planning battle over a roof extension to a modern house in Canonbury.

The first application for the home in Colony Mews was accepted by a Town Hall planning committee in January but neighbours took the council to the High Court over a procedural point – missing drawings from the application.

Now the applicant – architect Emma Dixon – has resubmitted the application, with revised sets of drawings, an updated daylight and sunlight report and updated design statement, to be heard at Tuesday’s hearing of the planning committee.

Neighbours claim the extension would be overbearing and would harm the conservation area, as well as the appearance of the host building. They also fear it would set a precedent in the area for people wanting extensions.

Council officers find the application acceptable but the decision must go before councillors.
