Abstract
A MAN has denied knifing a takeaway driver to death in Canonbury 19 years ago.
Appearing at the Old Bailey on Monday, Foyjur Rahman, 44, denied the murder of 25-year-old Abdul Samad on May 22, 1997. Rahman was extradited from the US to face trial.
Mr Samad, a father-of two who was also known as Kemal, was lured to an address in Alwyne Villas, Canonbury, with a bogus takeaway order.
He was attacked and died of his injuries.
At the time of his death the 25-year-old, who lived off Pentonville Road, ran his own business, Curry in a Hurry, based in St Paul’s Road, near the home he shared with his family.
