Abstract

A LEADING Labour councillor broke ranks this week and appeared to join a growing campaign against plans to dramatically extend parking controls, suggesting they may be designed to fill Town Hall coffers.
St Peters councillor Martin Klute, whose ward includes Angel, where controls are to be extended until 11pm, seven days a week, said of the proposals: “Perhaps the council is not being totally honest about the motivations behind it.”
