STAFF cuts and building sell-offs at the Whittington Hospital will be announced later this year, the chief executive has said.Simon Pleydell told the Tribune on Tuesday there were “no guarantees” that redundancies could be avoided but there was “no threat to the accident and emergency in any way”.He said plans to “dispose of bits of the estate” would soon be made public as part of a crunch two-year programme to get the trust back into financial stability. It follows an announcement last week that the Archway NHS trust, facing its biggest-ever deficit, was proposing £16.5million cuts this year alone.Mr Pleydell said: “We are looking at our workforce and we will be reducing the number of posts. We will let you have a number in due course – there are no secrets here.
