Abstract

IT would have been his 16th birthday, a milestone Alan Cartwright’s relatives and friends marked with a cycle ride from Brighton to London.Alan, 15, who was killed in a knife attack in February, had himself planned to do the ride for charity.
On Saturday, in his memory, dozens of cyclists made the 70-mile trip that Alan wanted to make to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. The teenager, who lived on the Bemerton estate, was attacked while riding his bike down Caledonian Road with his friends.
