Abstract
A FIRE thought to have been sparked by a cigarette in a wheelie bin spread so quickly that it engulfed a van and shop in Holloway before firefighters were able to tackle it.The blaze damaged the London Refrigeration and Air Conditioning store on the corner of Grenville Road at around 3pm on Tuesday afternoon. Some witnesses questioned why firefighters “came late” despite the nearest station “being two minutes away,” but a Brigade spokesman insisted that the first engine, from Holloway, was there within five minutes and 51 seconds.
