Abstract

Town Hall planning chiefs are to decide if Arsenal Football Club can continue to park dozens of buses outside people’s homes on match days for the “foreseeable future”.The street parking, which has sparked protests from residents, was intended as a temporary measure after underground parking at the Emirates Stadium was banned in response to an increased threat of terrorist attacks.

But the club is now asking for permanent permission to park about 40 coaches along streets near the ground. When the stadium was designed in 2000, architects made room for a 40-space underground coach park to minimise disruption caused by travelling fans.
