Archibald Fenner Brockway (1889-1988) anti-war activist and politician, founding member of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament. Arrested in World War I for refusing conscription and held for a night in the Tower of London, supported British involvement in World War II but was Chair of the Central Board of Conscientious Objectors throughout it. Labour MP for Eton & Slough 1950-64, when he was created Baron Brockway of Eton and Slough. Lived for 80 years at 60 Myddelton Square and was present when a plaque was unveiled to him in 1975.
