Rev Dr Henry Allon (1818-92), pastor of Union Chapel for 50 years, first as co-pastor after his ordination in 1844 and from 1852 as sole pastor. During his ministry the chapel was englarged (1876 by Cubitt) and rebuilt 1889. His services were known for their excellence mainly due to his musical talent. Lived at 10 St Mary's Road (now Grove) from 1849 to his death and kept and extensive library there. Obituary from 'The Christian' with engraving.
