Abstract
Illuminated facade from the Green painted just two years before the theatre’s destruction by fire. Opened in 1862 (rebuilt 1897), Collins was one of London’s most famous music halls. All the great music hall and variety stars performed here, including Charlie Chaplin, Marie Lloyd, Gracie Fields and, later, Norman Wisdom, Benny Hill and Tommy Cooper.
