Abstract
The astronomer Alexander Aubert (1730-1805) Fellow of the Royal Society 1772. In 1788 bought Highbury House, Highbury Hill for 6000 guineas and built a rotating observatory there. In 1797 he organised, and was appointed lieutenant-colonel of, the 'Loyal Islington Volunteers.' Buried at St Mary's. He is shown in uniform.
