Abstract
Fowler House, the mansion of the lords of Barnsbury was pulled down in 1850. At the end of the garden was Queen Elizabeth's Lodge, so-called because she may have passed through, but with the arms of Sir Thomas Fowler posthumously dated 1655. There is another building here too and the spire of St Mary's seen between them.
