Scope and Content
Four pages, A4. The Gay Youth Movement (known as 'GYM'; later the Lesbian and Gay Youth Movement, 'LGYM'), brought together LGBTQ+ young people across the UK: individuals and members of local LGBTQ+ youth groups, such as LGTG. 'Gay Youth' magazine was published from Summer 1981, becoming 'Lesbian and Gay Youth' from issue 14 in January 1985. The last known edition (no. 21) was published in Summer 1987. Numbers 1 (Summer 1981) to 8 (February 1983) are in this collection.
This third issue includes references to: the Campaign for Homosexual Equality; London Gay Teenage Group; Joint Council for Gay Teenagers; GYM events, and other gay youth groups. It also contains a list of recommended books for secondary school and public libraries, and a list of gay youth groups across the UK and Ireland.
